I don’t ship any of the characters I’ve asked for, that doesn’t mean I don’t want them to have relationships, it’s more I’m not so interested in that part of their lives, and I’m not really invested in any one partnership for any of these fandoms.

The Fellowship

I’ve always been interested in the “what if” possibilities of the Lord of the Rings - there were a lot of complex steps that had to go right to get to the happy ending.

What if Boromir didn’t fall prey to the ring, or he did later or earlier? Or Gandalf hadn’t fallen in Moria? Or they hadn’t found at Balin’s tomb?

What about Merry and Pippin not going on the quest, but two elves from Elrond’s household instead?

I’m aware that redoing the WHOLE of the LotR with small changes is an impossible ask, but what about a Silmarillion-type chapter, details what happened in a mythic kind of way?

Or maybe an interlude of the whole fellowship during the forty days they travelled from Rivendell to Moria.

The Hobbit

Thorin was a leader, but he was also a dwarf and presumably worked as a craftsman. What about some of the the things he made? Or anything about that side of his life. It could be before or after the dragon came to Erebor.

Or maybe late night drinking with Balin or Dwalin, or both. Telling Fili and Kili about Erebor, and the stories about his father and grandfather.

How did he persuade any of the other dwarves to join his quest to go to the mountain?

Something set during the time between episode 2 and 3, with Anakin’s training, but something happy and fun. They were good friends and presumably enjoyed each other’s company.

What did they do when they weren’t on Jedi business?

What kind of trouble did Anakin get Obi Wan into?
